Did you ever by chance come nose to nose with an old lover??? What kinda feelings did you have??? Ha ha
I wrote this song about that thought. Kick it around a bit if you have a couple minutes.
I think I fell in love again
I met her by chance in a grocery isle…she started to cry…she said I’m married
She was so upset …and I think I know why…she pretended not to care…but it was a poor try
I think she loves me…I saw that look in her eye …she don’t love this guy…that’s why she started to cry
My head is spinnin heart is poundin what just happened where’d…she…go…
I will be at home…sittin by my phone…when you’re all alone…I think you’ll call me
I think she loves me…I saw that look in her eye …she don’t love this guy…that’s why she started to cry
I’ve got these visions in my head what you and I had done in bed… please…call…me
I think I fell in love again… a second time to the same girlfriend
I think I fell in love again…this time around ain’t gonna let it end
Skuze me that I stold your wife…seems to me she ain’t been likin her life
I’ll make her happy like she was before…skuze me again for knockin on your door…wah solo guitar
The phone just rang gotta take a deep breath I hear her voice now my head is a mess
She said she misses me and needs a friend She says she’s I’m scared don’t know how this will end
I really like the intro and the first verse. It’s got a great vibe. The guitar solo might stand out more with a bigger, more distinct tone, which I think would be cool. And as always I dig your vocals!
Hi Cristina There is a little more to this story. ha ha I had been going with my now wife Roz since I was 16. We broke up briefly when I was 20 and in college. I was going out with another gal for a while. Roz called and said " enuf of this, lets get married" So we alloped and did. A couple months later I saw the gal I was dating in a grocery aisle with her boyfriend and she started to cry. Then I twisted the story a bit. ha ha Glad you liked the intro. I was hoping it would grab your attention
Nice one Paul! All your trademark sounds are in evidence here, but they seem to be getting clearer and more defined with each new song. Love that trippy wah guitar solo! Good stuff!
Sounds great mate,we all over think things too much. I would like that lead a bit wetter to sit in in the mix a bit more ,maybe a tad too loud also .Love your voice it has a really unusual quality to it
This has a great hook/chorus, I like it, and the bridge works good too, good sounds all around! Very cool to hear the wah also. The ending seems weak, not as good as the intro
You were messing with plugins and a bad lap top last I heard, how did that all work out?
Hi Andy I am hoping one of these times someone will say " hey the solo has to go, how about if I take a stab at something that would work there" It would be fun. Just felt like messin with the wah. A positive from you is huge in my world
Hi Ingo dude Yes I have a mini studio here with all the components, but because of my building an apartment, I haven’t done a thing. The puter is limping along but the midi stuff is way out there yet. Glad you said the end was weak. It is. I might go back to the intro with a surprise there. ha ha Thanks
This is a lot of fun. What I’m hearing is that if you got the guitars a little edgier and brought them out, you would have a modern T Rex thing going on. Bang A Gong, (or gang a bong, whichever you like). I’m on crappy speakers, but it sounds like it could be a touch brighter and more distinct, but it’s a great start.
Hey Bob, I am glad you liked it. I have had some great comments(including yours) so far. It really helps to get feedback. I get what you mean about the guitars should be more edgier. I have to find a good plugin for that.
thanks much
Overall a catchy little number with a real vintage pop/blues flavour. Some really cool vocal melodies that keep things interesting.
For me the mix just feels a little lifeless and lacking energy, probably due to the drum machine sounding drum tracks.
Hi Terry Yes, I agree this song doesn’t excite the senses much. Just a story I guess. Others have hinted the same that it needs spice. Gives me lots to think about. thanks you
Even a bit of work to the hi hats like some velocity adjustment and a few selective open/close accents and some added ghost notes on the kick would really bring things to life.
yeah man. I am digging this groove. I think you could push it a little harder. Like for example you could have a distorted guitar part come in during the last verse and have it screaming with your outro "i think i fell in love"s . but that is just taste stuff.
You do have access: Organized Trio is free growling B3. I’m sure you can also find a free Tubescreamer emulator out there. I know that in a different thread the mighty Capt. Fiasco tried to get you set up with a guitar sim, did you ever get that going?
If you need help I will drag you there myself, kicking and screaming. It is a three step process:
Download the plug.
Place the .dll file (it will be the only one in the downloaded folder for the plug) into the plug in folder for your DAW (when you open the actual program file where you can see all the folders, not the recording GUI).
Your DAW may Require you to scan for new plugs, but once you do that, the new plug will act just like an insert on any channel, like the compressor or limiter that came with the software. Probably a bunch of Youtube stuff to show you how it is done. Try finding a freeware fuzztone first, since you would probably need some type of midi keyboard to play the organ stuff properly.
There’s your homework for the weekend. When you get a minute on your laptop, go to Programs, then open that folder, then scroll down until you see the folder for your recording software and open the folder, you’ll see some sub folders, one of which will be labeled plugins. When you find the magic .dll file for your plug, you can usually just drag and drop it into that folder. Not as difficult as you may think. Man up, soldier.
