A specialist told us she will not need surgery. She was taking off her jeans. Pulled them to the floor and then couldn’t get one foor out and toppled. Sounded like a sonic boom when she hit.
I am so upset I had to go to the studio not to fall appart in front of her. Married 53 years.
I tweaked a few things and changed verse two lines…it was draging
You are my lady
I can see inside your mind … a glimpse within your soul
Your gentleness… the loving way I’ve known
No words apply to honor you ….your grace your giving heart
A privilege I have known right from the start
You are my lady… my lady… With whom this love I share
You are my lady… my lady …I’m blessed beyond compare
Daughters came before too long… a blissfulness so true
The miracle of life… she’d been given so brand new
They grew up fast and went away …to start a brand new life
with qualities …they had learned from my loving wife
You are my lady… my lady… With whom this love I share
You are my lady… my lady …I’m blessed beyond compare
Sometimes I felt… like I did not deserve her
There was nothing special I could give
Fancy didn’t fit her …honesty defined her
Simple was the way she chose to live
Hi Paul,
Sorry to hear about her fall, your “love”!!!
I am praying for a speedy recovery!!!
Agree with CRS, truly lovely words, and very special time to post this beautiful tribute.
I am sure your lovely wife regarded you as the best gift she had ever gotten!!!
You are truly a wonderful soul, and I am so blessed to be hearing this excellent production from you!!!
Regards and kisses to your lovely and better half!!!
With love and respect,
Rene
Hey Rene We find out specifics about the surgery and the day it will be done on Monday. I have been doing a lot of youtube videos on the subject. She is at a disadvantage having osteoporosis.
I will go back to the song now and use compression and all that. Took about four hours changing the lyrics a dozen times. Thanks for caring ole friend
Hi Paul,
Hoping that all went well with her surgery.
Praying for a speedy and full recovery!!!
Stay well, and keep making 'em great music!!!
With love,
Rene
Hey bud We found out, after meeting with a specialist, she will not need surgery. A cast for 5 weeks in the direction. Very thankful. Tough series for her after the January double pneumonia.
I now have the worst cold of my life. Coughing out of control every few minutes even at night. bummer. I did experiment singing with a rough voice and was able to go down to the low B and E was very easy. Might post a recording on it just for fun. Thanks for circling back
Oh no Paul that’s some terrible news, I hope the missus makes a speedy recovery. I’m sending out healing vibes from across the ocean.
So much to love about that tune (bridge is hella cool), aside from the great adoration you’ve conveyed for your better half.
Beautiful stuff.
wow @feaker, those lyrics are incredible. It is easy to see that those lyrics came from the heart. Even without music, those words stand on their own to tell an amazing story about (clearly) an amazing woman. I’m glad to hear that she is on the mend!
Hey Boss Lyrics are a good brain exercise for sure. Easier tho when they are about one’s girlfriend.
I get up at 5 am and i am sitting here doing editing lyrics for a couple new songs as I write this.
We now both have adult croup and waiting for it to clear to sing again. best to you and thanks
Touchingly sentimental lyrics and positive vibed music, Paul. I wish you both the best recoveries. As we grow older we face more health challenges that can be very serious, maybe not so much when we were younger.
feaker,
Thank you for the reviews! Now your song: guitars sound very nice. Glad your wife doesn’t need surgery. Vocals & lyrics sound heartfelt. Nice song & recording!
