Played it live too, got a good reaction, managed to almost play the solo right too
we tried the cello to double up also one voice in the middle on next passage but it had really hard time staying in tune on gut strings, so I took it out from the final mix.
Thereās some distortion in the audio. I guess it was recorded on somebodyās cell phone? Then somebody else walks in front of the camera with their own cell phone (about 3:00). Decent capture of the live performance though I guess.
Yeah, people watch concerts via cellphones these days
The other band had GoPro cams on stage so hopefully weāll have better recording of it. The festival also had 2 photographers that were running up front so maybe some pro pics from it as well.
Descent,
Thank you for reviewing my song. Now your song: the double bass & cello ending was a good idea. Donāt think I have heard that type of ending in a metal song, so that seems pretty original. I like the guitar & bass tones, playing, and riffs: very good. At times, the drums sound like they could be tighter timing wise. It is very rare I record real drums (havenāt done it in ages), but Melodyne has helped me with things timing wise with vocals, guitar, and electric bass. Drum audio is good for real drums; I know that is not easy.
Vocals have proper grit for the genre. I listened twice, and sometimes the vocals didnāt seem properly in key with the guitars, to my ears. Sometimes I experiment with different notes on vocals, monophonic guitar or electric bass using Melodyne to see if it makes things fit together better, if something sounds off pitch wise. This reminds me of Metallica in certain ways; partially because of the vocals; not a bad thing. In various ways, the song is impressive.
Nice. I like the interlude in this.
Welcome to the gang @dbuck! Great to have you here
Feel free to share some of your work. Weād love to hear it some time!
