Any of you heard of Katie Hopkins? Maybe it’d only be relevant to Brits, but this song was inspired by her compassionate and caring opinion pieces about the refugee crisis.
I don’t think I’d appreciated how much soundcloud’s streaming algorithm changes the high end - the hats are much more washy in the choruses than they sound in the wav file. Actually, the overheads might be a bit loud in general.
To my ear when the vocal comes in it is a little low, i think that you could push the volume up some. Good tones and movement throughout. Nothing else jumps out at me on my first listen.
Nice big kick in this one… It has a lot of space in the groove, so it works quite well.
I love that muted low-string guitar hook - it reminds me of something, but I just can’t put my finger on it atm. Really digging the subtle background “ooohhs”.
Really diggin’ the impact of the choruses - great dynamics there. The build to the solo is epic!
About the only thing I found could be slightly improved is the final low register vocal - maybe some treatment to the high mids to get that to be more intelligible would work.
