So I tried using a guitar plugin on my vocal...your thoughts

Note 1 I put in a parallel track to try to boost the vox ( I tought it was too hot the first time) I always do what I am told Seriously who would write a lyric “hey there baby, I wanna do it with you”???

Note 2 I completely changed the transition our of the chorus to singing a few parts flat to sharp. I was bored. The ending needs work. I’ll keep messin with it

I got this song cooking the last few days and i decided to put an amp plugin called ampire on my voice. There are many selections called british attack, clean, etc. Anyhow, the song itself is crap, but if you would listed to the first 20 seconds and let me know if you think this processing is a bit much. My voice just isn’t rough enough most times. I might go back on a few old tracks and add it???

Sincerely

Paul

The processing works fine, I’d say use it, push it hard, and put the vocal up front. You can always run a parallel dry track and get a mix that you’re comfortable with. The rest of the song is cool, needs some work but you’re on the right path here.

Sounds good, I’m a big fan of distorting vocals. I’ve even ran a vocal back out of the daw and through a RAT pedal and back in.

I was just gonna suggest that.

Sounds cool. Bring up the vocal a bit, or like the other guys mention, run it along side another clean track and adjust to taste.

+1 on the digging the effect.

Hey edgy is what i was looking for:) Thanks

Hi thanks for listening. I will try the parallel track thangy. That is something I can handle. Yes, i was going to shit can this, but I might as well finish it off right. I did get to use a word I have never used before “affirmation” Where the heck that came from???

sincerely

Paul

Hey, that gives me an idea. I am going to mess with using my boss. Might be even more interesting. thanks

Loving the fx… yay… and how funny that we are both playing round with the same stuff…
I like how it thickens/distorts/fuzzes… and yep, definitely adds an edge and cool layers…
o but your lyrics … haha… so subtle!!! (grin)…

Yeah, I got that from talking to my brothers daughters a while back. Glad I am not part of the present generation, I would have died from exhaustion. On to another song Take care

Good stuff, Paul! Distortion on vocals can really ratchet up the intensity quite a bit. Overall this sounds very much in the vein of T-Rex.

Hey bud. This is a poor song, only wondering about that vocal stuff. Don’t know of any t-rex, but it makes sense because I am truly a dinosaur:) Thanks ole friend

Paul

Sounds cool, nice

Ok, so now I know. I love this song and know all the words etc, I just don’t pay attention. thanks for posting this. I just asked my wife Roz, did you ever hear of T-rex? She had no clue either. We are old and pathetic. You da man

Hey, really cool song writing to me.
The vocal effect and layer work pretty well for that kind of “retro” song, it sounds live and alive, nice performance as well.

For the sake of mixing, I wish to get some kind of vintage plate or spring reverb to get more in the mood on that decade (I don’t know which one but I hope you would).

Very good stuff to me!!

Thanks much for listening. I usually guess on the reverb I use one in studio one called cathedral and turn it down from 20% to 12 ish. ha ha The lyrics ar cheezy at best. i just blurt something out. Take care
