wow the drums really sound good! the bass is really down there good job. I think the whole track would even sound more killer if the guitars were wider. maybe eq them differently to create some more separation also in preparation for the vocals. also, (and this is just personal preference) maybe you could tweak the guitar tone a bit. more like a crunchy sound instead of a fuzz type of tone. i think it would really help to make the guitars cut through the mix more. thanks for letting us listen bro and i hope this helps

Thanks. yeah, the guitars ARE eq’ed slightly differently and the right guitar was turned down a little on the guitar itself at certain points…but it was still the same guitar/amp/pedal etc. Im not a huge fan of the tone myself…to me its slightly “bloated” at certain points. For all the years ive played, ive never really went out of my way to be a tone guru but im pretty sure my ear will have to improve as I try to get better recordings and mixes.
Lotta midrange in my tone and at quiet apartment levels Im not sure how much of a killer crunch I can get
lately Im doing all my writing and demoing on my “practice” amp (old Fender Stage 185 with Joyo “plexi” pedal) which is in my bedroom…so I can do all of this sitting up in bed after a hard days work lol. My “real” amps (Peavey 6505+ and Line6 with 4x12) are in the living room but I aint gonna lie, lately it takes a lot for me to schlep my laptop in there lol. Its crazy, I get more done on worknights after work than i do on days off
