This song I just wrote and recorded yesterday. I’d say the Spitfire Fink guitar arpeggio inspired the song that sounded like a slowed down I’d Like to Change the World and these mallet toms preset on Jamstix. Then there’s the secret clicking sound in the background that I kinda like.
I wish I could make the drums sound bigger, but maybe they are adequate for this mainly acoustic song.
Here is a version with louder drums-
And here is a mix fixing a bad vocal line, adding a low vocal harmony on the last line of each verse and the cello/clarinet volume-
On the Way Home by Steve Bancroft
On the way home from a fine vacation
On the way home from a stint in prison
On the way home from a long day’s work
Better get there soon, you’re going berserk
On the way home from a funeral of a loved one
On the way home from visiting someone
Who needed the company, a little human interaction
On the way home with a lingering satisfaction
On the way home from a night on the town
I’ll take you home and maybe see you around
It isn’t so bad being alone
If you’re on the way home
On the way home from an eye examination
On the way home from a legal arbitration
On the way home from a friend’s habitation
Coming from anywhere you find relaxation
On the way home is a good place to be going
It means you have a home and nice to be knowing
It may not always be wonderful and comforting
You do not want to go home sometimes when you’re grieving
On the way home after years on the road
On the way home still carrying that heavy load
On the way home from a long night’s work
Better get there soon, you’re going berserk
