I put a new song in my music website called “We Should Adore”; it’s the song on top. Please tell me how you like it, and how it can be improved, and I will return the favor (leave me a link if you don’t have a recent thread here). Here is my link:
Loving the synth on the intro and I dig the guitar right after. I wasn’t sure what to expect and it worked great!
Mixwise, I felt like the drums could come up a bit, but that’s probably a bit subjective. And the vocals might need to come down just a hair so they tuck in with the band, but all this could be based on what I’m listening through, so take those things for what they’re worth lol.
Keep it up!!
holster,
Thank you for checking out my song, and reviewing it! I appreciate it! If you have any music you want me to review, leave me a link.
I appreciate it! Actually, I’ve been doing a lot more live stuff as of late, so no recordings currently. I still love that side of things though. It’s been fun to work on my chops though for live work. Makes the recording process that much easier when I already know how to achieve the sounds I’m going for rather than trying to correct things after the fact.
I think it mostly sounds good. The balance isn’t bad and you can hear everything. I think the drums could come up a bit and could use a bit more punch. Everything seems balanced, but a bit weak.
Cool groove / riff - I dig it! Mixwise, I agree with the comments above regarding vocal levels.
I great hint I’ve used many times for finding good levels (especially vocals) is to turn everything down to just above the noise floor of your environment. You should be able to make out the vocals clearly, but they shouldn’t be the only thing that is audible… the music should still sit just slightly under, but support it solidly without getting lost.
Chandler,
Thank you for reviewing my song; I appreciate it!
