I added a couple of songs to my music website: “Keep Me Alive” is the song on top, and “Take Away the Blame 4” (better compression would improve the volume of the latter song; I know) is the next song down. Please tell me how you like the music, and how it can be improved, and I will return the favor; leave me a link if you don’t have a recent thread. Here is my link:
First things first; the creativity level on both songs is outstanding. You do a great job of adding interesting elements into your compositions, and it’s obvious you spend a lot of time on producing your music. I really don’t know if my suggestions will apply, since they sound finished, but I’ll give it a shot.
Keep Me Alive: I really like the synth backdrop you created; it does a good job of propelling the song. The rhythm section sounds great, although it seems like it could be brought up in the mix a touch for more “slam”. The vocals are very interesting, the octave/doubling is cool, but it gets a touch out of sync (to me) in a couple of spots during the verses. The instrumental interlude fits in nicely, but again, to me a little energy is lost; maybe there’s a shade of volume drop in there to lead into the next section?
Take Away the Blame 4: Another cool song, although you probably should do a little dynamics work to get the volume closer to Keep Me Alive, for people too lazy to adjust the output for themself. It sounded like the click on the bass drum was left channel dominant, which drew my attention away from the center of the mix. Other than that, I just wished for the song to have a bit more attack in the mix. The arrangement and use of panning gave it a lot of interesting twists and turns.
Great stuff, keep it going.
@StylesBitchley, I love the way you worded all that. And I fully agree. Great job as always @aaron_aardvark. It’s always great to hear what you’re working on and finishing. Good stuff
StylesBitchley,
