Upon a little more reflection I came to the conclusion that the 3rd chorus/outro was just feeling a little too samey/played-out and didn’t really give the energy lift needed to close out the track, so decided to write in some new synth parts, most notably an airy sounding arp synth.
I think with the added energy it definitely feels like the outro hits a bit harder now, well hopefully anyway.
I like it a lot more than the last version at any rate.
Probably the last big change I make with any luck, and will just have to see what happens once the fresh vocals go over top
That’s a pretty subtle change to my ears @terryhesticles . The thing I notice the most is that you took out the little vocal clip at the beginning. But I would think you would want the whole thing to be pretty clean and straightforward for your vocalist to do her thing which is what you have here IMHO. You can always add production later.
The main appeal of this to a pop audience is what your vocalist will bring to it. Our ears are so jaded that we focus on the human element and I remember that the singer you picked is very good. If it were me I’d encourage her to add as many tracks and ideas as she can manage. If they are all separate then you can pick and choose what works the best. Just my 2 cents.
