Thanks for posting Very cool sounding guy. What was the purpose of the trigger track? Also, are you a member over at mix master or similar sites? I’ve been kicking around joining one, but not sure tho
This is very interesting, and very different from my concept of mixing. He makes it sound like he’s willing to mangle just about everything and see how it changes the position in the mix. I’d imagine the artists are pretty surprised by the first mix.
His approach would certainly make it easy to either love it or hate it, which based upon his reputation is great for him in terms of his work standing out.
I think he uses it here to trigger samples from Drummagog, but a trigger track can also be used to trigger gates really cleanly and accurately- I know Tom Lord-Alge uses them for that purpose
Also, are you a member over at mix master or similar sites?
No, although I do contribute to Mike Senior’s Patreon Campaign, and patrons get a special monthly podcast and various mixing videos as a reward.
Very true - I guess, if you’re getting him to mix, chances are you love what he does anyway.
The whisperer
Every time I watch anything with Tchad, I get fired up to mix something.
