I think I posted a demo of this quite a while ago. I finally got around to finishing the mix. Let me know your thoughts:
nice, really nice! The first 30-40seconds leading up to the chorus are pure sonic bliss. The bass, the kick, the surreal ambient guitar pickin. It is a crystal-clear sonic masterpiece!
Extremely small nitpick. I lose the bass a little bit when the Chorus hits at 43s, makes me crave to hear it build up even more solid in the middle on impact of the chorus. I mean I hear the base co-existing, but it loses the mid channel a little bit upon impact of the Chorus. Likely the reverb group taking over with the other instruments.
Smooth sailing after that. Overall, a masterpiece.
Thanks for listening and commenting, Michelle - much appreciated.
That might be a combination of a couple of things - I have an extra bit of sub bass coming in on the kick in the chorus, and I’m ducking the sub-bass from the bass via sidechain compression when the kick hits… so maybe I need to adjust the sidechain comp threshold during the choruses so that it takes a little less out.
Thanks again for your help!
