There’s lots to like about this number, some really epic guitars and drum work and the mix is solid.
I get that you’re telling a story/making a social commentary which I’m completely on board with, and can relate 100% on that level. But for me the operatic metal vocal gets a bit tired by the time you’re heading toward the 6 minute mark, and honestly quite a bit before that.
This isn’t a critique of the vocals themselves or the singer, I think he’s done a great job, but they just seem to anchor instrumentation in a sea of Maiden, and the music feels so much more than that. Would have been nice just to have another vocal do some of the heavy lifting with a bit more of a contemporary feel to pull you out of the 80’s British metal vibe at times.
Solid effort all the same \m/

Terry, now that you mention it - there was another take / death metal vocal/hardcore and I was kinda torn as both had merit :slight_smile:
