Yes, I hit things now and then. In fact I play as a percussionist/ drummer in a band (not my own). Its sort of jazzy acoustic stuff where I use a cajon with a kick pedal for kick and snare sounds combined with a high-hat, ride and crash cymbals. And a box full of small percussion instruments.
I have a normal kit (Pearl) stored away at home. Tried recording it, but with only two mics in a small room: no big success. So I reverted back to programming the drums. No fun

I’ve been thinking of getting an e-drum kit. Can you record subtle playing (I’m thinking HH and snare) using an e-drum? Or do you need to buy an expensive Roland set? Anybody out there with any experience?
