Does anyone know if the Izotope plugin manager prefers VST or AU?

When using Izotope’s engine as a standalone DAW, it defaulted to the VST folder - I need my Waves plugins, so I think I should just add the AU components folder to the directory of scanned plugins… but then isn’t the VST folder redundant?

Does anyone know if there is a reason you would need both AU and VST enabled at any given time?

No, you don’t need both. The main reason to have VST on Mac is for things like Cubase, which doesn’t support audio units.
