Does anyone else use Realtraps?

I’m almost 2 months into the new studio build and ready to hit Ethan up for another round of traps. What have you guys ordered from him so far? The stuff he’s sold me has worked great…just curious what others are using here.

I sure hope we get to see pictures along the way!!

Also, I haven’t bought any for my room yet, but I’ve been at a facility that did and I loved it. It’s still my plan to get some of his traps at some point

I built all of my 24 bass traps myself using rock wool in a wooden frame covered with a relatively cheap simple cloth. There’s a lot of DIY info to be found on you tube. The traps work fine although my room is still not perfect. I doubt it’s because of the quality of the traps. More likely to be the shape of the smallish room with a relatively low ceiling. I tried measuring stuff, but gave up with the amount of highly specialised knowledge you need to understand what you’re doing. I can’t afford a professional to come in and do it for me.

However, judging from your avatar and your comments you could be spending all the time I spent on DIY’ing earning money with recording. The pro stuff looks a bit better and you probably have a much better room to start with so you’ll need less traps. Would it be worth your while to get a pro to measure your room and give advice on the traps?

In my case it’s a choice between spending a couple of thousand euro’s on pro traps that may look better but are basically the same thing as mine, or the 150 euro’s or so I spent on materials for mine. Having a lot of rockwool left over from building my studio (and other odd jobs in the house) as well as large supply of cheap wood helped as well…

Good luck!

I have “Imaginary Traps” - Very cheap, and easy to build!

If you are working with Ethan pay him to consult on your project. I did and it was worth every penny. He saved me thousands. I love how my control room turned out.
