I’ve barely even tried Linear-Phase EQ’s. I know some of you rely heavily on them. Others don’t use them at all. Feel free to discuss in this thread
Hmm. I’m not really convinced of his conclusion that linear phase sounds more natural and that minimum phase gives an upper midrange edge. To me, linear phase is almost purely gimmick unless you are blending your EQ’d sound with another correlated sound (which does happen on multi mic’d instruments all the time).
The other advantage of linear phase is the fact that you can create much more complicated EQ curves for no additional CPU footprint.
