I don’t think this will be a plug I could afford anytime soon…

Holy shit that’s cool. Forensic audio. Would have been a very interesting career. Can you imagine doing this to some of the late 60’s early 70’s bootlegs that are out there? Record companies would have a heyday reissuing crappy live recordings of all kinds of legendary bands.
I’m guessing that this exactly what they intend to do now that they’ve had some success with such a complex one. If there is money to be made on other legendary bands, they’ll gladly take the low hanging fruit
I’m actually ok with that. I bought a Zep bootleg that sounded horrible. Then I saw Zep, and honestly, even being a Zep fanatic, the bootleg was better than the live show. I bet there are hundreds of live recordings that could be fixed that would be great. It would give record companies new life, and lots of lawsuits.
Me too! It’s always fun to hear new stuff from classic bands
YES – no, not the band but I agree – I heard some early Led Zep live stuff done before their first album and it was amazing. Tight, controlled and they knew how to work what seemed like a 100± person crowd. Sounded like it was recorded thru a sock, though…
I wonder if all those hissy Dead cassettes can be salvaged?
Unbelievable the difference between the original 77 release and the new recording!!
