here’s a little acoustic cover of jack johnson… let me know what do you think of the mix?
Its pretty good if you ask me. I would have de-essed a little more. Compression may be a tad strong on the guitar. This softer and more sentimental stuff seems to be trending a bit more toward relaxed on the compression. Just some thoughts.
Is that you?
Sounding good. I would say that you could eq some (more?) highs out of the reverb. It will allow the feel of reverb with out that hiss being added it will also allow the vocal to sound more relaxed. You may need bring back a little more of the mids in the vocals themselves. It is hard to say with out hearing the original vocal track and knowing what you have to work with. Then as Jonathan mentioned you could allow the guitar to interplay with the vocal more.
thanks for you comments… I’m just the 200hz area, since the guitar tuning is down to C… So I’m controlling the low end with multiband comp. yes it is
great idea! yeah I agree with cut out the reverb high freq.
mid 500-1khz area?
yep around that area
I’m listening from my phone, so for what it’s worth it sounds great on there. Translates very well. What a killer cover man! Awesome job!!
Hi nice ditty. A little hear what you are saying in a few spots with your unusual delivery, but it works well, especially the chorus. Great vibe congrats
sincerely
Paul
Frikken awesome! :beerbang:
I would NOT change a thing. The mix has got character as does the performance and your art comes thru on both. Overcompressed… well yeah… but so what I bet it would sound like you’re I the passenger seat on a car stereo.
Great job.
