Hey guys and gals, heres my newest sounds, bash them or just have a listen if you like.Collaration if anyone has a idea to throw at me.To mention, ive been trying a new workflow idea lately as opposed to my old or original one.Ive replaced my old DAW version that was crashing all the time and very irritating to make music on,even with a better PC than the version copy(was a possible part problem) and im utilizing what i seen typed before me a few times.See if you can make a track a day(after work obviously, thinking during work) whether its the fucking shit or the ducks nuts. And…
hey there billy. These are definitely unique ideas.
I admire the complexity of the structure of the song and how you conceptualized everything. Im pretty sure you really took the time in research and in writing these tracks.
I think the next step for you is to make them have more energy on the low end of the mix. As is Im hearing a lot of the high mids to high frequencies which sometimes are harsh. by adding some more bass I think it would balance out things a bit. I hope this helps and thanks for letting us listen to your tracks. cheers
Hey Brianinogang, thank you very much, your second paragraph is something ive heard alot, even back at RR.Im still not using the low side properly,or at all.
I actually made another track not long after these two, which i may have done abit better in,if you could have a listen and let me know, that would be fantastic.
No problem. I also had that same gray area in mixing before (and i still do). Im pertaining to the low end part of mixes. One thing that has helped me understand it better is by overdoing mixing the low frequency parts of a song. then after mixing, I sleep. the first thing I do when i wake up with fresh ears is listen to a reference track with great bass mixing and then compare it to what i’ve come up with. It really helped me internalize the differences and learned how to tame/exaggerate it. i hope this technique helps you out too. I’ve also read mixing engineers handbook over the internet and it really helped me a lot in understanding bass response. I’ll check out your latest mix and give it some thought too. cheers!
