Anyone tried Cubase 9?

Hows it working so far?

It actually seems to work ok. On my system it seems to be a little lighter on cpu and the graphic lag on plugs is much better. They got rid of the annoying hover stuff and the zones seem to help work flow. All in all I day it’s a solid update.they did add mixer history so you can undo changes and even go back several changes.

Hover stuff?

About damn time! lol

The hover stuff with the zones that may or not work. It was in 8.5 so if you didn’t have 8.5 than you probably don’t know what I’m talking about.

Sorry, I’m on Nuendo. I didn’t buy Cubase when Maurice (Yamaha Nuage rep) told me that once you had the NEK kit in Nuendo you wouldn’t need Cubase for anything. The v9 update really annoyed me when I found out how many of those features were added to Cubase and not Nuendo.

I’m pretty sure they will when Nuendo 8 comes out. It seems like Steinberg always releases Cubase first. It’s almost like they try to work out bugs with Cubase. A clue is that there is a big sale on Nuendo 7, so I would think the new Nuendo is only a couple months out. They have been pretty consistent with the annual updates.

I understand they got hung up on the release. I guess it threw them a pretty bad curveball when Apple discontinued support for quicktime. Video is really important to Nuendo as you know. If it takes them some time to sort this out, I’m hopeful it will be worth the wait. I do wish they had just went ahead and release the update then added the new video engine later :frowning:
