You do seem very comfortable in your own skin/performance. Even singing, what i think was an A note. Well besides the verse chords, I did strum along with the chorus. There is just something about those little acoustic dead air pauses that really work for me. Sometimes only a tenth of a second?
Live performances like this and Dave’s add so much to a forum. AND in yawl’s case there is no hiding flaws/mistakes. This is a great song. BTW I heard every vox word without lip reading
I wish I had the chops/tech savy to pull this off. I also think it would be cool to follow one of our members through a recording session starting from scratch. Laying down tracks, singing, mixing, etc.
I started writing a song this morning about riding my donkey (I pronounce her doan-key) Esmerelda vs driving a car. (who else would do that?) maybe I will try putting something together just for fun and get it on youtube.
This was a great wake up for me…thanks much Andrew or Andy??
Great stuff Andrew! That’s some pretty intricate playing to sing along with to get it down in one take! Great tone and projection on that Martin, too.
Keep ‘em coming! I got a couple more cookin’ with the new 12 string…
Great to hear the acoustic version of this song Andrew. I loved your album version. It’s when a song comes accross without any frills or production that you know it’s a good song. I would love to do one or two of these ‘naked’ versions of my songs, but I don’t have a studio to record it in at the moment (jopefully by the end of the year it 'll be fiished). An Iphone version then: or maybe a bit too naked?
This is one that I recognize because of the guitar arpeggios at the beginning of the song (reminds me of something from David Lee Roth’s solo stuff, but I can’t remember which album). After listening for a bit I recognized the chorus too. Now I remember this is the song that you shared the tracks for people so they could try their hand at mixing it.
Good stuff!
