Acoustic guitar layering tip if you only have one guitar

I saw this tip and thought it was interesting. Have any of you ever given it a try?

I’ve actually seen this done live also by some rather good guitarists on electric. I haven’t tried it personally, but as I understand it, it makes big bends easier due to the drop in tension.

Cool idea @BigAlRocks , I’ll have to try it. I like duplicating tracks and varying the tuning a few cents and maybe slip editing a bit and then playing with the pan setting to get different sounds but that would be more of a natural sound I think.
