When I built my most recent desktop I tried to get it as quiet as possible just using easily available parts. Using a Corsair liquid cooler with fans that have a “silent” mode, and a “silent” case, I think made by NZXT. The machine sits right next to my desk and when I’m listening through my monitors at pretty much any level I don’t even know it’s there. If I’m playing a game the fans spin up a bit as mentioned above, but otherwise the fan and case combo were a pretty good investment for me.
Yep, got it. I had extra fan controls on my mobo. Even though the fans are only 3 pin, I can still control the speed from the bios.
