A very sad day for the world of plug ins, particularly synths and drum machines.
My great friend Peter Linsner has decided to quit the world of VSTs.
If you don't recognise his name, perhaps you've heard of Linplug - his company.
Or Saxlab, still regarded by many as the finest saxaphonbe synth the world has ever seen.
I came across Peter (and Pavol, his partner in the business) When they created one of their first ever drumn samplers the RMIII. He followed it up with the astonishing RMVI which was - for some years, my go to drum creator.
In an email to his friends, Peter said today: "at some point I found that there is already everything available thats needed. I found the market to move into the newer, bigger, crazier direction to gain attention and sales. To make it short, I feel my mission for the computer musician is fulfilled and there are other missions waiting for me. I appologize for any inconvenience that this might cause to you."
The good news is that he's leaving his site l;ive and plug ins are available at markedly reduced prices.
A sad day for music. But I wish you well, Peter.
