I hope this message is cool with holster. If not, feel free to delete it. It's the only way I know to communicate.
I just wanted to tell everyone who migrated here from RecordingReview that I'm excited you have found a new home. The comradery I felt with you all was the single reason I kept RecordingReview going for years and years of losing money. If $$ were my only interest, I would have turned it off four years ago.
Engineering school has dominated my time for the past year and I have entirely neglected RecordingReview. While I do feel guilty for this absence, my current adventure is pushing me to the intellectual brink....and it's just getting started. (For those who don't know, the first semester of engineering school is designed to shatter the confidence of people like me. Luckily, I'm no stranger to humility.)
At the moment, RecordingReview has been hacked. To fix this sort of thing in the past would have required maybe 40 man-hours. I do not have that kind of time. To put it bluntly, if RecordingReview were a car, it would be time to put it in the junk yard and buy a new one.
I have serious misgivings about trashing a site in which I put EVERYTHING into for years and years. I have way too many great memories there. Unfortunately, I see no alternative. The site is too big to host unless a person wants to bleed cash and the code resembles Poland from 1945.
I wish all of you the best of luck and I thank you for years the being internet buddies. I do miss the good ol' days. SMILIE
